Saskatoon First Aid offers Red Cross emergency first aid and CPR re-certification courses. This course is one of the most popular re-certification courses available through the Red Cross. This course is shorter and cheaper than taking the full course, however, candidates need to meet the prerequisites prior to taking the course. Course Length:
The length of the re-cert course is 4 to 6 hours.
Course Cost:
The cost of the renewal course is 65 dollars. Course fee includes Red Cross certification fee’s and taxes.
Eligibility for Re-Certification (Prerequisites):
To be eligible for a Red Cross emergency first aid, CPR level “A” and AED renewal course candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Must have completed a full course or a re-certification course of the same level within the past 5 years.
- Must bring previous certification card to renewal course.
- Must have completed previous certification course with a credible provider such as St. Johns Ambulance, the Canadian Red Cross, Lifesaving Society or Heart and Stroke Foundation.
- Must have completed previous certification within Canada.
Certification:
Once candidates successfully complete the skills component and the multiple choice test with a minimum grade of 75% they will receive a Red Cross emergency first aid and CPR re-cert certificate. This certificate is of equal value to a full certificate from the original course. Certification is valid for 3 years and is a nationally accredited award that is valid throughout Canada. The certificate meets government legislative standards for Saskatchewan.

Refunds or Cancellations:
Saskatoon First Aid does not accept refunds or cancellations for its re-cert courses within 72 hours of the course. Prior to 72 hours candidates can receive a full refund.
