Fact Checked

After the Toronto van attack, concerned citizens now reach out to first aid providers to freshen their skills.

Saving a life

St. John Ambulance is an organization that provides public training on first aid. The organization reports a rise in interest in its courses since the van attack that took the lives of 10 people. Taking a 2-day course can help one’s ability to carry out the first aid care necessary to save a life.

If individuals received good training that involves continuous practice, there is no need to rely on thinking through the procedures or processes.

One of the witnesses to the van attack who performed CPR on several victims says that improve first aid training among the public is a necessity. She called out for bystanders with certified CPR training to assist the victims, but most do not possess the right skills. This is the reason why it is vital that every person should know how to perform CPR.
