A SeaBus passenger suffered a seizure and progressed into cardiac arrest around 8:45 PM while traveling from Waterfront Station. A good Samaritan acted and executed CPR until the paramedics arrived at the scene.
Saving a life
A North Vancouver resident, Brian Counihan was the one who saved the life of the man. According to Counihan, he was not aware of how long it took or what happened around him.
He focused on providing care to the man until the paramedics arrived. It was then he looked up and realized that everyone else already left the SeaBus for some time.
With the rapid turn of events, Counihan encourages everyone to be knowledgeable about first aid training. The incident showed him how important it is and eagerly considered going through a refresher first aid and CPR course in the coming months.
The man who collapses fully recovered and released from the hospital on the same day and requested to remain anonymous.
