Sepsis is the overreaction of the body to an infection. It is important to note that the immune system which is supposed to protect the body from viruses and bacteria is overwhelmed by the infectious organism.

The immune response impairs the blood vessels and ability of the body to regulate bleeding. Sepsis can cause widespread inflammation, disruption of the blood flow and shutting down of the vital organs including the heart.

Do I have sepsis?

The indications of sepsis might be subtle and even mimic other ailments. Generally, the usual indications of the condition include the following:
